Verizon Announces the first 4G LTE netbook, HP Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr

Verizon Wireless has announced the first 4G LTE powered netbook, the Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr. The netbook was previously announced at CES 2011 earlier this year and has finally made its way to release. Small business customers can take advantage of the 4G LTE speeds to quickly download and send email attachments and utilize word processing and Web browsing on-the-go. The Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr is designed to help business owners and frequent travelers get their work done fast and efficiently.
The Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr will be available beginning August 4th and come priced on a two-year agreement at $499.99. Customers will be able to choose one of the following Mobile Broadband plans:
- $30 monthly access for 2 GB monthly allowance
- $50 monthly access for 5 GB monthly allowance
- $80 monthly access for 10 GB monthly allowance
As for the netbook itself, this is sporting many of the same features that one has come to expect with a netbook, including:
- 4G LTE – customers can expect download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G Mobile Broadband coverage areas
