First Android based Skytone Alpha 680 Netbook

The Skytone Alpha 680 is a first Netbook running Google’s Android operating system is expected to be available within the next three months. The Alpha 680, as the laptop, is going through final testing at Guangzhou Skytone Transmission Technologies.

The Skytone Alpha 680 is measure approximately 8.5 x 6.0 x 1.2 inches and tipping the scales at 1.5lbs, it is smaller than the original ASUS Eee PC 701. Unlike the Eee, it will use a 533MHz ARM11 processor rather than an Intel chip, coupled with a 7-inch 800 x 480 display, 128MB of RAM and 1GB of storage.

Hewlett-Packard also plans to use Android on its netBook have low-cost, even if the executive refused to say with certainty whether HP plans to sell Android devices. ASUSTeK Computer has already said he plans to use Android and Dell is also the software for its next smartphone.
