Verizon Announces the first 4G LTE netbook, HP Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr

Verizon Wireless has announced the first 4G LTE powered netbook, the Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr. The netbook was previously announced at CES 2011 earlier this year and has finally made its way to release. Small business customers can take advantage of the 4G LTE speeds to quickly download and send email attachments and utilize word processing and Web browsing on-the-go. The Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr is designed to help business owners and frequent travelers get their work done fast and efficiently.

The Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr will be available beginning August 4th and come priced on a two-year agreement at $499.99. Customers will be able to choose one of the following Mobile Broadband plans:

$30 monthly access for 2 GB monthly allowance
$50 monthly access for 5 GB monthly allowance
$80 monthly access for 10 GB monthly allowance

As for the netbook itself, this is sporting many of the same features that one has come to expect with a netbook, including:

Verizon wireless has announced the world’s first 4G LTE laptop, the HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr. Back to CES 2011, The Pavilion dm1-3010nr has announced, now officially prepared for release by HP and Verizon on July 28th

The HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr will have 4G LTE capability built in, runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and is 1.2-inches thin. The laptop will feature an 11.6-inch High-definition display, dual-core 1.6 GHz AMD E-350 CPU with integrated graphics, 2 GB RAM, a 320 GB hard drive, built-in Wi-Fi, and a multi-card reader slot.

The Pavilion dm1-3010nr will cost $599.99 without contact and customers will have the option to choose a 5GB per month for $50, or 10GB for $80.

Acer has announced the new Aspire 5755 multimedia laptop, which is apparently designed to cater to the needs of multimedia lovers looking to get their entertainment fix on the go.

The Aspire 5755 comes with a choice of the Intel Sandy Bridge processor with up to the Core i7-2820QM, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, 1TB of storage, Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics, a 15.6in CineCrystal LED backlit display, and either a Blu-ray or basic DVD drive. Another Asus Eee PC Ubuntu powered netbook available in Italy

The Asus has released another Ubuntu Linux netbook in Italy, the Eee PC 1011PX. While last week Asus just launched the 12-inch Ubuntu netbook in Italy.

The Eee PC 1011PX features a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 diaplay, a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N455 single core processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel GMA 3150 graphics and a 250GB hard drive. It also has 3 USB ports, SD card reader, multi-touch touchpad, webcam, WiFi and 3 cell battery which offers up to 4 hours of battery life.

Now, Asus has plans to offer a netbook with Ubuntu in the United States. But we hope that Asus is planning to introduce a Netbook Linux in the U.S. soon.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 Honeycomb tablet has updated specs including 64GB of storage. Wireless Goodness spotted an FCC listing for an upcoming version of the tablet with an Iconia Tab A500 with 3G modem and a Iconia Tab A501 64GB solid state disk.

The Acer Iconia Tab A501 64GB model will directly rival the iPad 2 64GB version and will obviously draw automatic comparisons when the Iconia A501 is released. The A501 actually gets a model number change that include a Liteon image sensor, a new touchscreen, and Hynix DDR2 memory.

AT&T has announced plans to introduce the A501 later this summer. No word yet on pricing.

It look like that the Asus beginning to follow through on the promised that the company will offer the Ubuntu based netbooks. Now, Eee PC.it has spotted a listing for an Eee PC 1215P netbook running Ubuntu at an Italian retail site. The listing describes the processor as a 1.5GHz chip and running Ubuntu Linux 10.10.

The Eee PC 1215P features Atom N570 Dual Core, 2GB of RAM, 320 HDD, 3x USB ports, SDHC reader, and 6-cell battery. The Eee PC 1215P is selling for just 279.47 Euros, or about $397 US.

Samsung NC215S is the first 10 inch netbook to feature a solar panel on its lid that can charge the netbook’s 6-cell battery. It was initially scheduled to ship in July 3rd, but now it’s not actually shipping yet. However, the Samsung NC215S did go up for pre-order on Amazon for $399 and expected to ship the NC215S in mid or late August.

Samsung NC215S has a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 matte display, a dual-core Atom N570 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0, a LAN port and runs Windows 7 Starter. The solar panel is expected to generate enough electricity to provide 1 hour of run time for every 2 hours of charge time.
