Asus has officially launched its Eee PC Transformer a 10.1-inch Android tablet in Taiwan. The Transformer tablet is selling for about $500 US in Taiwan and an extra $100 US for the keyboard dock.

The Asus Eee Pad Tranformer features a 10.1-inch IPS Gorilla Glass display with 1280 x 800 resolution, a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, 1GB of memory, 16GB/32GB/64GB of storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, 1.2MP front facing camera, 5MP rear camera, HDMI, audio jack, and microSD card reader. It’s also available an optional detachable keyboard with a touchpad and chiclet-style keys. The tablet measures 0.51 inches thick and weighs 1.49 pounds.

Asus suggests you should be able to get up to 9.5 hours of battery life, and adding the keyboard dock could increase your battery life to 16 hours.
